The UAE participates in the World Athletics Cup in America

The UAE Athletics Federation announced that 4 male and female athletes have qualified for the finals of the World Championships for Men and Women Under 20, scheduled in Oregon, USA, from August 4 to 9, 2026, to participate in 7 competitions, for the first time in the history of UAE athletics.
He revealed that the list includes Arwa Ali, Maryam Karim, Suleiman Abdel Rahman, Aminat Qamar Al-Din, and Aisha Muhammad, after they obtained the qualifying numbers during their participation in the Third West Asian Championship for Young Men and Women Under 20 – Beirut 2025, and the Third Asian Youth Games in Bahrain 2025.
Mohammed Abdel Nasser Al-Khayyat, Vice Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors, stressed that qualifying for the World Championship for this category is a pivotal milestone that culminates the Federation’s strategic efforts in establishing a distinguished and strong base of promising elements, and developing their capabilities through participation in international tournaments.
He also stressed the Federation’s keenness to develop an integrated program to qualify all members of the team, and prepare them with the best indicators that guarantee the display of strong technical levels in the World Championship, especially since participation is a great impetus towards more indicators of development for the UAE national team.
