The Democratic Republic of Congo wins the African Cup of Nations with a goal over Benin

The Democratic Republic of the Congo national team opened its campaign in the African Cup of Nations by winning with a clean goal over the Benin national team today, in the first round of the fourth group competitions of the group stage of the continental competition, currently being held in Morocco.
The Democratic Republic of Congo, which won the title in 1968 and 1974, owes great credit for achieving this victory to player Theo Bongonda, who scored the only goal of the match in the 16th minute.
With this result, the Democratic Republic of the Congo team obtained the first three points in its career in the group, which also includes the teams of Senegal and Botswana, while the Benin team remained without any points.
The 24 teams participating in the tournament were distributed into 6 groups, with 4 teams in each group, with the winner and runner-up of each group qualifying for the knockout rounds, in addition to the 4 best third-place teams.
