Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaign begins its missions in Egyptian villages

The Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaign began its humanitarian missions in Egyptian villages today, under the supervision of an Emirati-Egyptian volunteer medical team, by organizing a series of forums aimed at attracting thousands of doctors and nurses, qualifying them and enabling them to serve the community, to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive services, under the slogan “From heart to heart… for you, Egypt… in the footsteps and approach of Zayed the Good.”

The campaign comes as an initiative of Zayed Giving and the Emirates Preparedness and Response Program – Readiness, and in cooperation with the Dar Al Ber Association, the Sharjah Charity House Foundation, the Emirates Volunteer Center, the Young Arab Volunteer Leaders Programme, and the Young Volunteer and Humanitarian Leaders Programme, and is managed through the Emirates Mobile Heart Clinics, and the National Training Foundation – Tadreeb.

Dr. Adel Al-Shammari Al-Ajmi, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Head of Emirates Doctors, and Head of the “Jaheziya” Program, said that the initiative has succeeded, over 25 years, in attracting thousands of doctors from the Emirates and Egypt to volunteer more than a million volunteer hours within medical convoys and camps in Egyptian villages, within a joint Emirati-Egyptian volunteer program.

He stressed the active participation of Egyptian doctors in all the humanitarian tasks of the initiative since its launch in 2000 in the Emirates, and in its international stations in a number of countries, including Morocco, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Jordan, Eritrea, Tanzania and Egypt, where millions of children and the elderly benefited from it, and thousands of heart surgeries were performed through mobile hospitals and mobile clinics equipped with the latest technologies, and under the supervision of an elite group of senior doctors and surgeons from international university hospitals.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Ber Society, Abdullah bin Zayed, said that the Emirati-Egyptian volunteer forums aim to consolidate the culture of volunteer health work, community giving and humanitarian tolerance, and to empower medical personnel to serve humanity, in line with the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and in accordance with the directives of the leadership of the two countries to activate health and humanitarian partnerships to provide sustainable solutions that advance the health and community sector.

He added that the forums include specialized medical forums and field and virtual training workshops, in addition to operating mobile clinics and a field hospital in Egyptian villages, to provide free services in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Housing.

In turn, Sultan Al Khayal, Secretary General of the Sharjah Charity House Foundation, confirmed that the forums coincide with the work of medical convoys and mobile clinics under the slogan “From Heart to Heart,” which strengthens institutional relations between the two countries and supports joint work and community health initiatives, in a gesture of loyalty to Egypt’s role in the renaissance of the Emirates through its medical, engineering and educational cadres.
He pointed out that the forums constitute a platform for exchanging knowledge, discussing the latest medical developments, and launching innovative initiatives and projects that enrich volunteer and community work.

For his part, Dr. Salah Abu Bakr Al-Shafi, a cardiothoracic surgeon and member of the Young Arab Humanitarian Leaders Program, said that the volunteer teams provided diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive services to hundreds of children, women and the elderly through mobile clinics and a field hospital equipped with the latest equipment, with broad participation from doctors and nurses from both countries, based on their keenness to work in the field to serve needy groups.

He added that Egyptian medical personnel are keen to participate in the Zayed Global Humanitarian Campaign stations around the world, praising the UAE’s global leadership role in providing aid and health programs to needy patients without discrimination, and appreciating the efforts of volunteer doctors from the UAE and Egypt who have contributed to serving more than a million children and the elderly over 25 years.
