We missed easy chances in front of Al-Nasr’s goal

Al-Ain defender, Moroccan Yahya Bin Khaleq, regretted Al-Zaeem’s positive 2-2 draw against its host Al-Nassr, at the summit of the 10th round of the ADNOC Professional Football League, which was held yesterday evening, at Al Maktoum Stadium, in the presence of a crowd of nearly 2,000 fans, stressing that his team paid the price for wasting easy opportunities and not investing its superiority in crucial periods of the match.

Bin Khaleq said in press statements after the match: “We missed easy chances in front of the goal, and it is known in football that when you waste opportunities you are punished, and this is what happened. Success was not with us.”

Despite the draw, Al Ain maintained its lead in the standings after raising its score to 24 points, but the difference was reduced to only three points with Al Wahda, which is in second place with 21 points and has a postponed match, so that “Al Annabi” is considered the biggest beneficiary of the summit result, and in return, Al Nasr raised its score to 15 points in sixth place.

Al Ain had opened the scoring early through Ladba Kodjo in the ninth minute, before Al Nasr quickly equalized the score through Ramon Merez in the 14th minute, and Al Zaeem’s response was not long in coming, as Matias Palacios restored the visitors’ lead with a second goal in the 20th minute, giving Al Ain a clear advantage, before Al Nasr succeeded in equalizing during the second half through Glauber Lima in the 70th minute.

In the other confrontation, Al-Wahda achieved a valuable victory over Khor Fakkan with a free goal, at Al Nahyan Stadium, reaching the longest unbeaten streak in its history with 21 matches (13 wins and eight draws), and Omar Khribin scored the only goal of the match from a penalty kick in the 22nd minute, raising Al-Anabi’s score to 21 points, while Khor Fakkan’s points froze at 11 points.

For its part, Al-Wasl jumped to third place after its victory over Dibba 3-1 away from home, raising its score to 18 points, while Dibba remained at the bottom of the standings with three points. Goals for “The Emperor” were scored by Sergio Pereira (3), Nicolas Jimenez (46), and Adrilson Silva (64), while Simon Cabral scored Dibba’s only goal (20).
