Tunisia accompanies Nigeria to the round of 16 after a draw with Tanzania

Tunisia qualified for the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations after drawing 1-1 with Tanzania, accompanying Nigeria, which won 3-1 over Uganda to achieve the full mark in Group C on Tuesday.

Tunisia has four points in second place, five points behind leaders Nigeria. Tanzania ranked third with two points, while Uganda, bottom of the group, had one point.

Ismail Gharbi gave Tunisia the lead in the 43rd minute with a penalty kick, but Faisal Saloum equalized for Tanzania immediately after the break.

At the same time, Rafael Onyedika scored two goals in the second half to lead Nigeria to a major victory over Uganda, which completed the match with ten players after goalkeeper Salim Majola was sent off immediately after he came on to replace the injured Dennis Onyango.

Paul Onuachu opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 28th minute, while Rogers Matu scored Uganda’s only goal in the 75th minute.
