As part of its continued support to promote development in various , the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen provides projects and in the governorate "Abin"It reflects the features of sustainable development, from health and education to water, agriculture, fisheries, and development programs, to improve the level of basic services, raise the efficiency of infrastructure, create job opportunities, and create a sustainable development impact in the governorate and throughout
Development interventions cover the water sector through projects to use renewable energy to contribute to water security, including a project to use renewable energy in Ahwar District, a project to use renewable energy in Khanfar District, a project to use renewable energy in Zanzibar District, and a project to use renewable energy in Lawdar District.

These projects contribute to improving the continuity of water availability for beneficiaries in these districts, in addition to a project to enhance drinking water transportation services to provide clean and safe water to the population, and reduce Effort on families, and enhancing the ability of beneficiaries to meet daily water needs.

Education Sector

In the education sector, the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen implemented the project to establish and equip the Alawi Model School, which represents a qualitative addition to the educational infrastructure in the governorate, as the construction and equipment of the model school in the city of Jaar, the center of the Khanfar District, was the most densely populated city in the Abyan Governorate along with the city of Lawdar, and given the student density in the city of Jaar, in support of teaching and learning opportunities.

It also came within the program’s projects and initiatives in the education sector, which contributed to supporting education at its various levels: general, higher, and technical and vocational training, in 11 Yemeni governorates, which included: Taiz, Aden, Socotra, Al-Mahra, Ma’rib, Hadhramaut, Hajjah, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, and Al-Dhale’.

Health Sector

A highlight of the health sector is the project to establish a rural hospital in the Sabah District; With the aim of providing integrated health services to the residents of the district and neighboring areas, bringing the health service closer to the population, and reducing pressure on central hospitals.

It will include facilities that include obstetrics and gynecology departments, maternity and child care, inpatient, operations and emergency rooms, internal medicine, dental, ear, nose and throat clinics, radiology rooms and laboratories, equipping the laboratory, radiology and sterilization, and providing equipment designated for surgical operations, to contribute to improving health care services in Abyan Governorate and various governorates.

Health development projects and initiatives in Abyan Governorate supported medical and emergency services, thus enhancing the health sector’s ability to respond to emergency needs.

Food Security

Within the framework of enhancing food security, the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen implemented projects using renewable energy technologies to support the agricultural sector in the districts of Ahwar, Khanfar, Zinjibar, and Lawdar, by operating irrigation systems with solar energy, which contributes to improving agricultural production and increasing farmers’ income, thus enhancing The ability of local communities to achieve food security.

The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen also presented the Livelihood and Livelihood Support Initiative, which aims to empower families economically, improve sources of income, and create sustainable job opportunities, thus contributing to enhancing economic and social stability in the governorate.

These development projects and initiatives come within the efforts of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen aimed at implementing sustainable development interventions that meet basic needs and contribute to Supporting the path of development and reconstruction, and improving the level of services provided to our Yemeni brothers.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen presented 268 development projects and initiatives in various Yemeni governorates in 8 basic and vital sectors, which are: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, fisheries, developing and supporting the capabilities of the Yemeni government, and development programs.
