Bani Yas attacked us with a large number of players

Al-Wahda team player, Serbian Dusan Tadic, admitted that the upcoming confrontation, next Saturday, with Al-Sharjah in the postponed match of the ninth round of the ADNOC Professional League, will be strong, while he avoided commenting on a question about his former coach, the Portuguese Jose Moraes, who suddenly terminated his contract with Al-Anabi, before later taking over the leadership of Al-Malik.

Tadic said in press statements, following the 3-0 victory over Baniyas, yesterday, in the 12th round of the competition, in response to Moraes’ return to Al Nahyan Stadium: “Sharjah is a strong team, and they usually attack with a large number of players, and I think it will be a difficult confrontation.”

The Serbian player shone remarkably against Al-Samawi, in front of a crowd of more than 1,500 spectators, after assisting the three goals scored by Syrian international Omar Khribin in the 12th, 18th and 45+5 minutes, making him alone at the top of the list of goal-makers in the league, after raising his tally to seven assists, ahead of Al-Ain player Alejandro “Kaku”, who has six assists.

This victory gave Al-Wahda the opportunity to temporarily rise to second place with 24 points, only three points behind Al Ain, the leaders, while Baniyas’ score froze at seven points in 12th place.

Tadic commented on the victory, saying: “We appeared strong in the first half. We positioned ourselves correctly on the field and attacked with a large number of players and succeeded in scoring. It is true that we suffered offensively in some previous matches, but against Baniyas we presented a distinguished attacking match.”

Regarding the fluctuation of the team’s results during the last period, he said: “We went through ups and downs, but the most important thing after a loss or a draw is to return quickly, and always focus on the next match. Now an important confrontation with Sharjah awaits us.”

He continued: “We presented a strong first half, showed high spirits, and pressed well, and did not give the opponent any chance, and this is the level we should be at.”

On the other hand, the captain of the Baniyas team, Fawaz Awana, expressed their great disappointment with the loss, and said: “This is a match to forget. We did not do enough to even come out with a draw, and we conceded two goals that could have been avoided, and we must learn from this match.”
