Excitement peak… Al Wasl conquers the island at a deadly time

Al-Wasl achieved an exciting victory over Al-Jazira with an unanswered goal, scored by Renato Junior in the fourth minute of stoppage time, to preserve the team’s chances of competing for the ADNOC Professional League title and temporarily rise to third place.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, despite Al Jazira’s early advantage, which almost opened the scoring through Mohamed Rabie, but goalkeeper Mohamed Ali made a brilliant save. Mohamed Ali also blocked a powerful shot from Nabil Fekir and turned it into a corner kick.

As time passed, Al Wasl began to threaten Al Jazira’s goal, the most notable of which was Ali Saleh’s attempt and Jimenez’s header that went just over the crossbar.

In the second half, Al Jazira relied on defense and counterattacks, and Bruno de Oliveira almost opened the scoring, but the goalkeeper brilliantly cleared the ball. As the offensive performance of both teams declined, Al Wasl’s winning goal came through Renato Junior, who headed Palacios’ cross into the net, seizing the three points.

With this victory, Al Wasl’s score increased to 25 points in third place temporarily, while Al Jazira remained fifth with 12 points.
