Sharjah is champion of the Emirati-Qatari Super Cup

The Sharjah team was crowned champion of the UAE-Qatari Super Cup, after defeating Qatar’s Al-Gharafa on penalties with a score of (5-4), after regular time ended in a positive draw (1-1), in the match that brought them together, yesterday, at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha, and was characterized by strength and clubness.
Goalkeeper Al Hosani saved the fifth penalty kick from South Korean Jang Hyun-soo, before Brazilian Igor Cornado sealed the win for Sharjah by scoring the fifth kick.
Al-Gharafa opened the scoring in the 64th minute, through Romanian Forenel Coman, before Luan Pereira succeeded in equalizing for Sharjah with a wonderful shot “73”.
The first half, which ended in a goalless draw, witnessed a relative advantage for Sharjah, without translating chances into goals, while the two teams shared control over the course of the second half, which witnessed the scoring of the two goals of the match, before resorting to penalty kicks to settle the title.
