The comprehensive strategic partnership between the UAE and the Republic of India is a model of international relations based on a shared vision, mutual trust, and work for the future. This relationship has transcended the boundaries of geography to become a partnership based on unity of purpose and complementarity of interests. As the two countries move forward side by side, the partnership between the two countries continues to consolidate its position as a model of constructive cooperation capable of contributing to achieving development, stability and prosperity at the regional and international levels.

His Excellency Dr. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the country, said in statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the occasion of the celebration of Republic Day in India, that his country is celebrating its 77th Republic Day at a pivotal stage in its development path, characterized by confidence in the future, reliance on innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment in human capital. Today, India stands out as the fourth largest economy in the world, and among the fastest growing economies, with clear indications of its move to third place in the world before the end of the decade. Current.

He added that this national occasion constitutes an important milestone to shed light on one of the most successful and sustainable international partnerships, which is the partnership with the UAE, which has transcended the framework of traditional relations to become an advanced model of strategic cooperation based on mutual interests, mutual respect, and a shared future vision.

He pointed out that the advanced level of bilateral relations between the two countries reflects the strength of the ties between their leaderships, and this was clearly evident during the official visits exchanged between the two sides, and this intense leadership interaction contributed to expanding areas of cooperation to include trade, energy, infrastructure, education, and communication, in addition to advanced strategic areas such as space, defense, peaceful nuclear energy, green technologies, vital minerals, and cooperation in the polar regions.

His Excellency Dr. Deepak Mittal said that the economic relations between the two countries witnessed a qualitative leap, with the volume of bilateral trade exceeding the barrier of 100 billion US dollars during the fiscal year 2024-2025, which reflects the depth of the economic interdependence and its strategic importance. Based on this achievement, the two sides agreed to raise the ceiling of ambitions by aiming to double the volume of trade to 200 billion dollars by 2032. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in 2022 was formed, and then the investment agreement. The bilateral agreement in 2024 provides a supportive institutional framework for expanding investments, facilitating the movement of goods and services, and enhancing integration between the private sectors in the two countries.

He added that the UAE is today India’s third largest trading partner and the second largest destination for its exports, while India represents the UAE’s second largest trading partner. The increasing presence of Emirati institutions in the Indian market confirms the firm confidence in the strength of the Indian economy and its growth prospects. The signing of a letter of intent to develop the UAE investment zone in Dholera in the state of Gujarat also reflects a practical approach towards long-term investment partnerships.

He continued: “Innovative cooperation in the areas of digital payments, trade in local currencies, artificial intelligence, data centres, food parks, nuclear energy, connectivity and communications projects, along with initiatives such as linking UPI-AANI systems, the JAYWAN card, the virtual trade corridor, and Bharat Mart in Dubai, embody a modern and ambitious partnership at the same time. What distinguishes this partnership is the natural complementarity between the strengths of the two countries, bringing our peoples closer together and enhancing their rapprochement in an unprecedented way.”

He explained that in light of the rapid geopolitical transformations, the visions of India and the UAE intersect regarding the importance of regional stability and enhancing collective security. The two sides have agreed to work towards a strategic defense partnership, which reflects the level of trust and coordination between the two countries. The educational partnership also constitutes a fundamental axis in the strategic relationship, as branches of prestigious Indian educational institutions have been opened in the UAE, including the Indian Institute of Technology in Abu Dhabi and the Indian Institute of Management campus in Dubai. This trend reflects a shared conviction in the importance of building qualified human capital for the economy. Knowledge and innovation.

He stressed that the Emirati-Indian relations are based on a solid humanitarian foundation, embodied by the Indian community in the Emirates, which has effectively contributed to the development process and formed a successful model of coexistence and cultural integration. The opening of the Hindu “Babs” temple in Abu Dhabi also represents a prominent sign of the values ​​of tolerance and mutual respect established by the Emirates, and reflects the commitment of the two countries to strengthening cultural and social ties. The announcement of the “House of India” project in the Emirates comes to enhance this human and cultural dimension of the bilateral relationship.
