New amendments to the traffic diversion regulations in Abu Dhabi

The Integrated Transport Center, affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, announced the start of implementing new amendments to some provisions of the traffic diversion regulations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of traffic management and ensure the highest standards of safety for road users and workers. in Sites Construction And traffic diversions.
The center stated that the new amendments include updating some definitions related to traffic permits and no-objection certificates to ensure clarity of procedures and ease of application. The amendments also allowed emergency works to be carried out without a prior permit, provided that traffic safety requirements are adhered to during the implementation of the works, and the center is notified before the work begins, with an official request to obtain a traffic permit being submitted within 24 An hour if the duration of the work exceeds 12 hour.
Under the new amendments, the Integrated Transport Center can temporarily stop issuing traffic permits if necessary based on the nature of the site or its degree of danger to road users, or when the required conditions and procedures are not met. The decision also allowed the center to refuse to extend or cancel the traffic permit in accordance with the approved controls, in the event that the authorized entity does not commit to carrying out the work in accordance with the specified requirements, or in the event of a violation of the prescribed time period, in addition to cases of repeated commission of administrative violations listed in the schedule of violations and fines.
The amendments included updating the schedule of violations and fines to keep pace with the requirements of the stage and ensure the commitment of the implementing agencies, as well as canceling any previous provisions that conflict with the new amendments.
