Secret techniques from FIFA to pursue doping in the World Cup

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) organized an intensive training course to certify 30 doping control officials from various continents, as part of the operational preparations for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

This course aims to ensure the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in sample collection processes (urine, blood, and dried blood spots) and unify internationally approved digital and laboratory procedures, according to a statement issued on the official FIFA website.

Director of the Judicial Bodies Department at FIFA, Luis Villas-Boas, stressed that these accreditations represent a fundamental pillar for protecting the integrity of football, noting that the participants underwent strict proficiency tests and written and field examinations to ensure that they meet the required standards.

FIFA decided not to appoint any officials in future world championships except those who have succeeded in obtaining or renewing this certificate, in line with the international standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
