The establishment of Dubai consolidates its role as an engine of growth through an integrated digital system that enhances the efficiency of services and the attractiveness of investment

Dubai, 11 February / WAM / The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai confirmed the continuation of its efforts aimed at consolidating its role as an institutional engine supporting the economic growth of the Emirate of Dubai, and contributing effectively to supporting the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the size of Dubai’s economy, and place it among the top three economic cities in the world.

This support comes through an integrated system for managing identity, residency, and ports, based on comprehensive digital transformation, government integration, and future readiness, in a way that enhances Dubai’s economic competitiveness and supports sustainable growth.

The administration explained that estimates indicate that the air sector will contribute about 45% of the GDP of the Emirate of Dubai by 2030, which places the system of ports and services related to travel at the heart of efforts to support the movement of the economy, attract investments, and sustain business and trade flows.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, confirmed that what Dubai Residency has achieved reflects an integrated economic role that goes beyond providing traditional services. He explained that the identity, residency, and services system developed by Dubai Residency today represents a fundamental pillar in supporting the economic growth of the Emirate of Dubai, by accelerating procedures, enhancing government integration, and creating a flexible and attractive environment for business and investment, in line with Dubai’s D33 Economic Agenda and the UAE’s vision of building an economy based on innovation and efficiency.

He added that the Government of Dubai continues to develop digital and proactive solutions based on data and institutional partnerships, which contribute to enhancing Dubai’s global competitiveness, supporting sustainable growth, and consolidating the emirate’s position as a leading model in efficient services and quality of life.

During the year 2025, the institutional performance indicators of the establishment of Dubai reflected the direct impact of the digital system in supporting the economy, as more than 70 million transactions were implemented using digital technologies and artificial intelligence, within an operational environment that relies on digital services by 100%, which contributed to accelerating procedures, raising the efficiency of operations, and enhancing the continuity of travel, business, and investment flows, in line with the directions of the Dubai Economic Agenda towards a highly productive digital economy.

In the context of consolidating Dubai’s position as a global business center, Dubai recorded more than 500 million government connections and integrations, in addition to nearly one million integrations with the private sector, in a model that reflects its role as a coordination axis that links government and economic agencies within one system, contributing to facilitating doing business, improving the customer experience, and enhancing Dubai’s attractiveness for investment and global partnerships.

The advanced digital infrastructure managed by the Dubai Residence has contributed to dealing with more than 195 million gigabytes of data, within a system that enjoys high operational readiness and almost complete technical stability, which ensures the reliability of services, the sustainability of operations, and the emirate’s ability to absorb the rapid growth in the volume of demand without affecting the quality of performance, in support of the vision of the Dubai Economic Agenda in building an economy based on data and advanced technologies.

In terms of developing services, the Dubai Authority continued to implement an integrated methodology to simplify procedures and speed up the customer’s journey, by redesigning service paths and reducing the number of steps and requirements, which contributed to improving the efficiency of completing transactions and reducing the time taken for basic services, most notably travel and identity document services, which directly reflects on the competitiveness of the business environment and the quality of life in the emirate.

In the field of sustainability and operational efficiency, digital transformation efforts resulted in the dispensing of more than 88 million papers annually within the services system, in addition to reducing more than 620 thousand tons of carbon dioxide emissions, in a practical embodiment of the integration of the economic and environmental dimensions, and supporting the sustainability goals, which is one of the main axes of Dubai’s D33 economic agenda.

The establishment of Dubai has maintained advanced levels of institutional readiness and operational flexibility, through full commitment to business continuity plans, complete success in operational experiments and virtual scenarios, in addition to high rates of readiness for innovation and anticipating the future, which enhances its ability to keep pace with economic and operational changes efficiently and proactively.

This institutional approach embodies Dubai’s commitment to its national role in supporting the process of economic development, and achieving a balance between operational efficiency, system security, and customer experience, in a way that enhances the confidence of society and investors, and supports Dubai’s readiness for the next stage of economic growth.
