The Ruler of Sharjah directs that quick solutions be found for humanitarian cases of employees

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Head of the Human Resources Department, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, to find solutions for humanitarian cases among employees, establish a quick and flexible work mechanism to deal with them, and develop direct and immediate solutions to them through a special section in the Human Resources Department.
His Highness also announced the establishment of a new residential complex in the university district opposite Khor Kalba, which will be received within 6 months, God willing, as well as the opening of a “hostel” in the city of Kalba similar to the “Al-Rayaheen Hostel” located in Khor Fakkan during the coming days, God willing.
This came in response to a caller to the “Direct Line” program called Amal Al-Junaibi, who stated that she is an employee in the Sharjah government, and her husband is disabled and confined to a wheelchair, and needs constant visits in hospitals, and he underwent surgeries at the beginning of last year.
She explained that she was obtaining licenses to accompany a patient inside the country, and she submitted to her employer all the required documents, along with the medical reports proving the need for her to be with her husband to help him with movement and with all the details of life, noting that he had surgery on February 26, and the hospital asked her to be with him as a companion.
She added that she applied for accompanying leave for her sick husband, only to be surprised that her employer had deducted her entire leave balance due to her accompanying her husband, and her salary had also been deducted for three consecutive months.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah said: “I would like to clarify that the action taken in the case of our daughter Amal Al Junaibi is in violation of the existing regulations. There are no regulations that regulate this process in this way at all. This employee or this employee who took this action acted on her own without referring to the existing instructions or to the public administration, and all the practices that this employee did were wrong. We have now contacted Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, head of the Human Resources Department, and asked him to intervene immediately.”
Based on the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the Head of the Human Resources Department made an immediate phone call, during which he informed the caller, Amal Al Junaibi, that her matter would be fully followed up, and that her leave balance was reserved for her, explaining that this case was exceptional because of its humanitarian details, and that the Emirate of Sharjah is the home of humanity, stressing that all laws, rules and regulations regulating human resources in the Emirate take into account humanitarian cases and social circumstances, and stressing that all government agencies in the Emirate will be communicated to develop a quick and flexible working mechanism to deal with… Such cases, and developing direct and immediate solutions to them through a special section in the Human Resources Department.
In another separate phone call, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah answered the caller Amer from the city of Kalba, who was complaining about the sewage of the buildings built near his residence, saying: “With regard to the issue of the caller Amer, who suffers from the sewage of the buildings that were built near his residence, it will be placed in the development plan, but as for the houses in this area of Khor Kalba, their owners will move to new homes in a new residential complex in the university district opposite Khor Kalba within 6 months with permission.” God, we have worked to the best of our ability to complete it quickly, and thank God the delivery will take place after six months and perhaps before that, after which the caller Amer and the rest of the dwellings near these buildings, approximately 6 dwellings in number, will move to this new residential complex.”
His Highness continued: “We do not neglect these matters, but the building, the contractor, the land, and the arrangement; All of these things take time, and God willing, within 6 months, these houses that were built near them will have moved to the new residential complex. We are also working on completing a beautiful project in Khor Kalba to be opened in the coming days. A hostel similar to the “Al-Rayaheen Hostel” will be opened in Khor Fakkan, and it will have a private beach on the sea, noting that the houses are fully equipped, named after their owners and not numbered, and the entire area will be developed within the ongoing development projects in the city of Kalba. We hope that those who have not received their housing compensation in the old Khor Kalba area will contact the municipality to receive the compensation.”
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah directed the Emiri Diwan to pay the expenses of a year of study for the daughter of citizen Fatima Muhammad from Kalba, who is studying at the University of Sydney in Australia.
The caller had explained that her daughter was studying with a superiority scholarship from the state, but due to her losing a grade in part of one of the courses, according to the law, the scholarship was suspended for this academic year to be resumed in other years, and in view of the high expenses for this academic year amounting to 300 thousand dirhams, she requested assistance.
His Highness also directed the Chief of the Emiri Diwan, Rashid Ahmed bin Al-Sheikh, to contact the Friends of Patients Association to resume the treatment assistance that the Association was providing to Umm Abdul Rahman, who explained during her contact with the program that she is a child of a female citizen and suffers from many health problems. The Association stopped treatment assistance several months ago, and she has no health insurance and no source of income other than helping her mother with what she gets from the Department of Social Services in Sharjah.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah affirmed his keenness to follow up on the affairs of citizens and residents and address humanitarian cases directly, in a way that embodies the established humanitarian approach of the Emirate of Sharjah in caring for people and providing them with a decent life.
