"Al Ghurair Foundation" Launching an academy "Youth of a country" In Cairo

CAIRO, 12 February, 2017 (WAM) – The Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation opened a new national academy for developing youth skills in Cairo, with the aim of supporting the transition of Egyptian youth from education to employment and aligning learning outcomes with the needs of the labor market.

The “Shabab Balad” Academy, which was launched by the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt in partnership with the Foundation and in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) within the Generation Unlimited initiative, is the first platform of its kind that provides integrated paths for the transition from learning to earning, with plans to expand to other governorates.

The academy was designed as a national model linking skills development to employment, entrepreneurship and the green economy, based on labor market data and with the participation of young people and business owners, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and ensuring a sustainable impact.

The academy was opened by His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation, in the presence of a number of Egyptian officials as well as representatives of the United Nations.

His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair stressed that investing in youth skills represents a fundamental pillar for future growth, pointing out the importance of building practical systems capable of transforming learning into real job opportunities through scalable partnerships that focus on results.
