Aya Al Kiyoumi wins the women’s title at the Abu Dhabi Endurance Championship

Al Reef Al Ajban Stables, with its rider Aya Ali Al Kiyoumi riding HC Potro Rifik, won the women’s 100 km race title at the opening of the Abu Dhabi Endurance Festival.

The race was organized by the Emirates International Endurance Village, in cooperation with the Equestrian Federation, with the participation of 171 elite female riders from various stables and equestrian clubs in the country.

The champion was able to achieve the title, after covering the total distance of the race, with a time of 3:19:33 hours, and an average speed of 30:07 km/hour, and the jockey Leah Vandeckerhoff came in second place, riding the horse “Hecla du Pas Four” for the “F3” stables, achieving 3:19:37 hours, while the third place was the jockey Sarah Ali Al-Jahouri, riding the horse “Moro Lisro” for the stables. “Al Wathba”, achieving 3:19:48 hours.

The women’s race distance, which is 100 km, was divided into 4 stages, and the champion, Aya, ranked sixth, then second, and fell slightly to third place, before clinching first place brilliantly in the final stage.

For her part, Aya Ali Al Kiyoumi, the race champion, stressed her pride in achieving her first title in the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba, after a strong competition with the participating female riders in a challenging atmosphere until the last meters.

She pointed out that winning the first title in her career in endurance sports strengthens her ambition towards more titles in the upcoming races, with the support and interest of Al-Reef Stables – Al-Ajban, and the constant encouragement of her parents.

The racing champion praised the tangible efforts of the Emirates International Endurance Village in Al Wathba in organizing races and providing the best practices for participating in races, which contributes to empowering female riders with competitive capabilities and advanced skills.

The female riders who won the first three places were crowned by Muslim Al Ameri, General Manager of the Emirates International Endurance Village, Mohammed Al Hadhrami, Director of Events at the Village, Abdul Rahman Al Rumaithi, Supervisor of the Village, and Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of Sponsorship and Marketing at the Village.

Tomorrow morning, the Emirates International Endurance Village will witness the Zayed Bin Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Cup race for private stables for a distance of 100 km, the second event of the Abu Dhabi Endurance Festival, while the open race for a distance of 120 km will be held at the end of the festival on Sunday.
