"Dubai Endowments" Launches the third season of the Dubai Government Employees Endowment for Hajj and Umrah

DUBAI, 18th February, 2018 (WAM) – The Dubai Endowments and Minors’ Funds Management Foundation launched the third season of the Dubai Government Employees Endowment for Hajj and Umrah, to complement the mission of this endowment in light of the success achieved for the previous two seasons of the initiative, and to consolidate the culture of sustainable institutional endowment among employees of government agencies in the emirate.
The initiative aims to build a new sustainable endowment from the charitable contributions of Dubai government employees on an endowed plot of land in the Al Rashidiya area in Dubai, consisting of two residential investment villas.
The total value of the project, including the land and construction costs, is about 8 million dirhams, with the project construction costs amounting to about 5 million dirhams, with an annual return estimated at 10% of the project value.
The proceeds from the endowment are spent to cover the costs of Hajj and Umrah for those with limited income and eligible segments, allowing them to perform the rituals and contributing to achieving human solidarity among the various groups of society.
Dubai Government employees can contribute to supporting the initiative through the Smart Employee application, affiliated with Digital Dubai, and then transfer the monthly deduction to the Foundation’s account, which in turn collects these donations and pumps them into financing the project it is establishing, in a step that enhances the spirit of community participation and the values of sustainable giving that characterize the work environment in Dubai.
His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the Foundation for Endowments and Minors’ Funds Management in Dubai, said that the launch of the third season of the Dubai Government Employees Endowment comes as an extension of the great success achieved by the previous two seasons of the initiative, which embodies the spirit of solidarity in the community of Dubai Government employees, and supports the Foundation’s efforts to innovate new endowment formulas that achieve sustainability and elevate human values.
Al-Mutawa added that this initiative reflects the vision of the wise leadership in establishing the concept of the innovative endowment and its role in meeting the diverse needs of various segments of society, noting that Dubai government employees can donate to the new endowment through the available channels to contribute to building charitable endowment projects that will contribute to meeting societal needs in a sustainable manner.
