The European Union imposes harsh sanctions on Barcelona

The European Football Association (UEFA) decided to impose a penalty on the Spanish club Barcelona due to what happened in the Slavia Prague match at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona obtained a direct qualification card to the round of 16 of the Champions League, season 2025-2026.
The Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reported that UEFA imposed a financial penalty on Barcelona worth 30,500 euros due to two incidents that occurred during its match against Slavia Prague on January 21.
She explained that the fine includes 15,500 euros for lighting fireworks in the aforementioned match, and 15,000 euros for the team’s late entry to the field, and as a result, Hansi Flick received a warning and a possible penalty from the European Union’s Disciplinary Committee.
