"Trends" Participates in a conference in Cordoba

Abu Dhabi, February 22, 2017 – The Trends Research and Consultation Center participated in the fifth scientific conference of the University Platform for the Study of Islam, which was held in Cordoba, Spain, under the title “Ethics and Aesthetics in Islamic Heritage,” within the framework of activating the memorandum of cooperation between the two sides.
Trends’ participation confirmed its commitment to supporting comparative Islamic studies and promoting inter-approaches that link philosophy, theology, arts and social sciences, thus contributing to a contemporary reading of Islamic heritage that highlights its moral and aesthetic dimensions and its role in promoting dialogue and confronting hate speech and extremism.
The center was represented at the conference by the main researchers, Hamad Al Hosani and Dr. Wael Saleh, who participated in scientific sessions and discussions and moderated two sessions that dealt with the conceptual interconnection between morality and beauty in Islamic thought, and its impact on shaping the Islamic civilizational vision, in addition to discussing the manifestations of this interconnection in the arts and contemporary life.
The conference witnessed the launch of the book “Abu Dhabi Conference 2024”, issued by “Trends” in cooperation with the university platform, which includes peer-reviewed studies on the Document of Human Fraternity and its impact on strengthening relations between religions and cultures, and provides practical recommendations to consolidate this concept.
