"UAE Judo" He won 12 medals in the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Ramadan Championship "Al Wathba 2026"

Abu Dhabi, February 26 / WAM / UAE players topped the events of the first day of the junior categories of the judo competitions in the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship – Al Wathba 2026, with 12 medals, including 3 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze.
The tournament will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Presidential Council, at the headquarters of the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, and will continue until next March 17, with the participation of more than 5,000 male and female athletes in 16 competitions.
Second place went to Egyptian players, with 4 medals, two gold, two silver and one bronze medals, Algeria third with two gold, Jordan fourth with a gold, and Syria fifth with two silver and bronze medals.
Dr. Nasser Al Tamimi, Vice President of the Emirates Judo Federation, praised the efforts of those in charge of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship, and stressed that it contributes to motivating the younger generations to practice sports activity during the month of Ramadan, praising the large participation of 95 players from 18 countries in the judo competitions yesterday.
He added that judo competitions were distributed at the junior and men’s levels, in addition to holding championships for other age groups in other Ramadan competitions in the country, noting the remarkable passion of various nationalities in participation and the atmosphere surrounding the competitions.
In a related context, the pistol shooting competitions will continue tomorrow at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of more than 150 shooters representing 30 teams, 19 for men and 11 for women, in addition to the three-way basketball tournament, and will continue until next March 10.
On the other hand, the sevens football tournament resulted in advanced levels of players and strong competition to reach the places qualifying for the knockout rounds. Forsan Al Bateen defeated Al Shanqata 6-1, Tabreed defeated the Abu Dhabi team 3-0, Al-Ittihad team defeated Elite Team 4-1, Boulpari defeated Veterans 5-1, the National Archives and Library defeated Al Wathba 5-1, Baynouna defeated Al-Murabitun 3-0, and Al-Annabi defeated Al-Taawoun. 2-1, and Elvet Academy defeated Al Khair Friends 4-0.
