The “Hafeet Sports Challenge 2026” competitions continue on their 10th day"11" Amidst strong participation and competition

Al Ain, 2 March / WAM / Sports competitions continued for the eleventh day in a row within the “Hafeet Sports Challenge 2026” tournament, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain region, and under the supervision and organization of the Al Ain City Municipality in cooperation with Al Ain Club and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, within a framework that embodies the integration of institutional efforts to enhance community participation and consolidate national identity through sports activities and competitions, in line with the objectives of the “Year of the Family”.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and a number of officials from participating and supporting entities attended the final match of the “Al-Tabba” Heritage Championship.

His Excellency stressed that holding community sports tournaments during the month of Ramadan represents a successful vision that enhances the balance between spirituality and physical activity, and contributes to consolidating sports as a way of life, noting that the sponsorship and support of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the tournament reflects the leadership’s keenness to spread sports culture and enhance the positive collective atmosphere in society.

His Excellency explained that the sport of “tabba” represents a model for developing popular games from a traditional activity to an organized competitive sport, based on the conviction that sport is a way of life and an essential source of public health.

The Hafeet Challenge competitions extended to various facilities in the city. The ice hockey, cricket, basketball, tug-of-war, football, volleyball, padel, and fitness challenge tournaments continued, amid a remarkable audience presence and professional organization that reflects the broad participation base.

The “Al Dhabi” team also won the ice hockey title by defeating “Shaheen” by a score of 9-2 at the Hili Skating Arena, after imposing its offensive superiority, recording 39 shots on goal compared to 6 for its opponent.

In padel, the duo, Nasser Al Ketbi and Rami Yaslam Al Jabri, won the title, while Mohammed Al Mansouri and Mohammed Ahmed Salam came in second place.

As for basketball, the “CST” team won the men’s category title after defeating “Team Tribu Kaliwat” with a score of 70-51, while “DA Pearl Basketball Academy Elite” won the junior title after defeating “Al Ain Heat” 77-43.
