The Head of State receives a phone call from the Sheikh of Al-Azhar
Abu Dhabi, 4 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today a phone call from His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, during which he expressed his denunciation of the blatant Iranian attacks on the lands of the UAE and a number of sister countries, and the violation of state sovereignty, the rules of international law, and the principles of good neighborliness.
For his part, His Highness the President of the State expressed his thanks to His Eminence the Sheikh of Al-Azhar for his position.
During the call, the two sides stressed the need for restraint, an immediate halt to the accelerating military escalation in the region, and resorting to dialogue and political solutions to address various issues, in order to avoid further deterioration in security and stability in the region.
