24 horses qualified for the finals of the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship

Dubai, April 4 / WAM / 24 horses qualified for the championship rounds scheduled tomorrow, Sunday, at the conclusion of the competitions of the twenty-third edition of the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship 2026, held at the Dubai World Trade Center, with the participation of 155 horses from 12 countries.
The total number of horses qualified from yesterday’s and today’s competitions rose to 42 in various categories, competing for prizes worth $4 million.
The second day witnessed the preliminary rounds for the male category with the participation of 92 horses across 8 rounds, some of which were divided into two categories (A) and (B), bringing the total rounds to 10 rounds.
“Yara Al-Badayer” by Sheikh Mohammed Saud Sultan Saqr Al Qasimi won first place in the fifth race for fillies under a year old, followed by “OM Muzn” by Omar Muhammad Ali Shalik Al-Shamili, then “Sultana Al-Hawajer” by Alia Ahmed Ghanem Al-Hajri.
In the sixth race for colts under a year old, “BHM Emperor” by Hamila Stud came in first place, followed by “Faten Al-Sadeem” by Al-Sadeem Stud, then “Nimr M” by Al-Masarra Stud.
In the seventh round for one-year-old colts, for Section (A), “FVA Exeper” by Nayla Hayek won first place, “Ranan Al-Badayer” by Adel Falah came second, and “Hashim Al-Ghanadir” by Khaled Khamis Issa Al-Muhairi came third.
In Section (B), “Ghasham AH” by Ahmed Saeed Al Hameli came in first place, followed by “Jamran Al-Hawajer” by Ghanem Mohammed Al-Hajri in second place, then “Al-Aryam Sukar” by Al-Aryam Stables in third place.
In the eighth round designated for two-year-old colts, “B.V. Chazan” by Shen Wang took first place, “Mahboob Al Shiraa” by Al Shiraa Stud came second, and “Al Aryam Al Ruwais” by Sheikh Yas bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan came third.
In the ninth round for 3-year-old colts, “De Burkan” for the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud won, followed by “Azzam Al Amal” for Sheikh Mohammed Saud Sultan Saqr Al Qasimi, then “Ashraf RC” for the Omani Royal Cavalry.
The competitions concluded with the tenth round for stallions aged 4 years and over, where “YKS Siraj” by Nayla Hayek won first place in Section A, followed by “J. Zelzal” by Al Remas Arabian Horse Stud, then “S.Wadi” by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi.
In Section (B), “De Siraj” for the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud came first, followed by “De Meziane” also for the Dubai Stud, then “S. Prince” for Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi.
Qusay Obaidullah, General Director of the Championship, confirmed that the event consolidates its global standing by attracting elite horses, noting the participation of three world champions, including two who won the title twice, in addition to more than 24 horses that won medals in international championships.
He explained that the selection of referees was done through a lottery among 20 candidates to choose 9 referees, without interference from countries, in a way that enhances the integrity of the evaluation and the quality of the competitions.
Suleiman Al-Hattali, Director of the Registration of Arabian Horses in the Sultanate of Oman and Director of Technical Affairs at the Royal Cavalry of Oman, confirmed that the tournament represents a prominent competitive platform that brings together the elite of horses, praising the level of organization and the positive atmosphere that reflects the passion of owners and breeders.
Muhammad Al-Tawhidi, Director of Al-Bustan Stud, explained that the Dubai Championship represents the end of the season for championships in the Gulf and Europe, making it a gathering station for the best horses. He pointed out that his stud participated with three horses, and that the championship witnesses continuous development every year in terms of organization and quality of participation.
