The Development Authority gave King Salman Royal Reserve bin Abdulaziz, owners of loose livestock, including camels and others, spread in the area "Two ears"A period of 10 days, starting today, Thursday, April 9, 2026 AD, to release it and receive it officially.
The authority revealed that this step comes within its efforts to spread awareness and achieve the environmental goals for which the reserves were established, foremost of which is preserving the vegetation cover and protecting Wildlife.
She explained that owners must visit the authority’s center (Arnan Al-Maidani) during the grace period to issue temporary entry permits, stressing that the official authorities will begin fully implementing the system as soon as the specified deadline expires.
Dangers of loose livestock
The authority stressed the danger of the presence of loose livestock inside areas with High environmental sensitivity, due to the disruption of the environmental balance and destruction of vegetation through overgrazing.
She stated that preserving plants ensures the purification of the air and the reduction of temperatures, in addition to the formation of natural buffers for winds and dust storms.
She indicated that protecting biodiversity in the region helps limit the spread of diseases and epidemics, noting that the continuation of random grazing reflects negatively on the integrated ecosystem that the state seeks to protect according to the goals of the vision Saudi Arabia 2030 AD.
Regular procedures and confiscation
The Authority confirmed that the regulations and laws strictly dealt with the dangers of loose livestock, citing the agricultural system that gives the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture the right to seize neglected livestock.
It pointed out that the animal welfare system of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries prohibits leaving animals neglected, as the executive regulations stipulate that the animal will be confiscated in the event of repeated neglect, with the owner bearing the costs of transportation and health care. And veterinary services.
She stated that the competent authorities have the right to dispose of confiscated animals by sale or donation in the event that their owners do not appear within a maximum period of 15 days from the date of seizure.
Security and regulatory integration
The King Salman Royal Reserve Development Authority clarified that the implementation of the regulations is carried out in high-level coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Special Forces for Environmental Security in accordance with the Environmental Law (1441 AH).
She said that the security forces undertake monitoring to ensure environmental compliance and control. Violators will be referred to the relevant authorities, while providing the necessary security support to field inspectors.
The authority concluded by calling on camel owners to take advantage of the grace period and cooperate to remove their livestock before the deadline expires, stressing that adherence to the regulations reflects national awareness of the importance of protecting natural resources and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.
