He came back from afar… Kalba equalized Al Wahda 2-2 within two minutes

Al-Wahda team neglected to win a victory that was within its reach, and fell into the trap of a positive draw 2-2 against its guest, Kalba, in the confrontation that brought them together today, Thursday, at Al Nahyan Stadium in the twenty-second round of the professional football league, in the presence of about two thousand spectators, in a scenario that reflects the continuing crisis of wasting the advantage of “Al-Annabi”.
The hosts entered the match with a clear attacking mentality, and succeeded in imposing early control over the course of the game, translating their advantage into a first goal through Christian Benteke in the 9th minute, before Omar Khribin increased the lead with a second goal from a penalty kick in the 19th minute, in a first half in which Al-Wahda appeared to be the more organized and dangerous side, finishing ahead with a comfortable double.
The scene changed completely in the second half, as Al-Wahda’s rhythm declined noticeably, and the team lost its ability to control the tone of the match, which opened the door for Kalba to gradually return and impose its style on the course of the match.
The visitors took advantage of this transformation, reducing the deficit through Rene Rivas in the 69th minute, before the same player returned just two minutes later and scored the equalizer in the 71st minute.
With this result, Al-Wahda raised its score to 36 points in fourth place, while Kalba added a valuable point that raised its score to 23 points in ninth place (temporarily).
