Manchester City competes with Real Madrid for the Chelsea star

English club Manchester City is considering the possibility of making a surprise move by signing Argentine Enzo Fernandez, the star of its local rival Chelsea.
The midfielder moved to Chelsea in 2023 for a then-record deal concluded by a British club, amounting to 105 million pounds sterling.
But speculation has increased that he may be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after a disastrous season for the Blues that saw the dismissal of English coach Liam Rosenior on Wednesday.
The Athletic website reported that early interest in the midfielder’s services has begun to appear, and that he is one of a group of names being monitored during the summer transfer period.
Manchester City joins other clubs that want to sign Fernandes, including Spanish Real Madrid.
Manchester City is seeking to sign a new midfielder after announcing Bernardo Silva’s departure from the club at the end of the season.
It is noteworthy that Fernandes recently carried out a two-match suspension imposed on him by Chelsea management, after he hinted at the possibility of moving to the Royal Club in the summer.

A few days after he refused to rule out leaving in the summer, Fernandez said in a YouTube video: “I would like to live in Madrid. It is a beautiful city, it reminds me of Buenos Aires.”
It was reported at the time that he submitted a transfer request after his punishment was announced, which also saw him stripped of the captaincy (in Reece James’ absence) in Chelsea’s match against Manchester United.
