Abdullah bin Zayed and Vice President of the German Bundestag discuss cooperation relations and regional developments
Abu Dhabi, April 27 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Omid Nouripour, Vice President of the German Bundestag, the “federal parliament” of the Federal Republic of Germany, discussed the overall current situation in the region and regional developments.
This came during a meeting with His Highness, His Excellency Omid Nouripour, where the repercussions of the brutal Iranian missile and terrorist attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of countries in the region on regional and international security and stability, energy supplies, international navigation security, and the global economy were also discussed.
His Excellency Omid Nouripour reiterated the solidarity of the Federal Republic of Germany with the UAE in taking all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and the safety of its lands, citizens, residents, and visitors.
While His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan appreciated the visit of His Excellency Omid Nouripour, which embodies the depth of Emirati-German relations, and also reflects his country’s full solidarity with the UAE in the wake of this Iranian terrorist aggression.
During the meeting, the two sides also reviewed developments related to the announcement by His Excellency US President Donald Trump of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and discussed the importance of strengthening regional and international efforts to achieve sustainable peace and consolidate the foundations of security and stability for the benefit of the peoples of the region.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Omid Nouripour discussed the path of development of cooperation and partnership relations between the UAE and the friendly Federal Republic of Germany, and ways to strengthen them in all fields.
During the meeting, His Highness pointed out the pivotal role played by parliaments in supporting political and diplomatic solutions to crises, promoting dialogue and understanding paths that contribute to consolidating stability, and creating an environment supportive of peace and sustainable development at the regional and international levels.
The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State.
