Kalba Beach hosts the “Open Biathle, Triathlon and Laser Run Championship”

Next Friday and Saturday, Kalba Beach will host the open championship for biathlete, triathlon, and laser run, which is organized by the Emirates Modern Pentathlon Federation in cooperation with the Kalba Club, with wide participation from various academies and swimming training centers at the state level, in addition to a number of sports clubs, as part of the federation’s drive to expand the base of participation and enhance the presence of these sports at the local level.

Holding the championship comes as part of the federation’s preparations to host the Asian Championship for Biathle, Triathlon and Laser Run next October, which reflects the country’s readiness to organize and host continental sporting events in accordance with the highest regulatory standards.

Dr. Hoda Al Matroushi, President of the Emirates Modern Pentathlon Federation, confirmed that organizing the open tournament on Kalba Beach comes within the framework of the federation’s keenness to spread the culture of modern pentathlon and enhance its presence in society, especially by holding events in natural environments that add a distinctive dimension to the competitions.

She said in press statements that choosing Kalba Beach reflects the federation’s approach towards diversifying the sites for holding tournaments and linking them to the tourism and environmental components of the country, which contributes to attracting a wider segment of participants and gives players a different competitive experience.

She added: “The tournament will witness wide participation from different age groups, which will contribute to discovering new talents and developing the players’ abilities, as the federation is keen to organize such events on an ongoing basis to support the game’s progress and expand the base of its practitioners.”

Al Matrooshi thanked the Board of Directors of Kalba Club for its support and cooperation in hosting and organizing the tournament, stressing that this cooperation contributes to the success of the event and its outcome as desired.
