The Fujairah government participates in the Global Geospatial Information Forum in Amsterdam

Amsterdam, April 29 / WAM / The Fujairah Government, represented by His Excellency Sheikh Engineer Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director General of the Fujairah Digital Government, and His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Morshedi, Director General of the Fujairah Center for Geographic Information Systems, participated in the work of the World Geospatial Information Forum 2026, which was hosted by the Dutch capital, Amsterdam.
During its participation, the Fujairah government was briefed on the latest technologies and solutions in the field of geographic information systems and artificial intelligence related to spatial data, in addition to smart city applications and digital infrastructure, in addition to learning about the best international practices, which contributes to supporting the decision-making system and enhancing the efficiency of government services.
The Fujairah government also participated in a discussion session within the forum’s activities that addressed the infrastructure of smart cities and the role of geospatial data in supporting urban planning and enhancing the efficiency of resource management. It witnessed a review of a number of global experiences and practices in employing spatial technologies in developing government services and achieving sustainability.
His Excellency Sheikh Engineer Mohammed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi stressed that participation in this event comes within the framework of the Fujairah government’s keenness to keep pace with global developments in the field of digital transformation, and to adopt modern technologies that support the development of government services and improve the quality of life.
He added that the Fujairah government is continuing to build an integrated digital system that relies on data as a major driver in decision-making, which contributes to improving the quality of life and providing innovative government services that meet the aspirations of society, and keep pace with the UAE’s trends towards global leadership in digital transformation.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Morshedi stressed the importance of using geographical data to support strategic planning and efficient resource management, thus enhancing the emirate’s readiness to keep pace with the requirements of the future.
He noted that enhancing integration between geographic data and digital services contributes to establishing an advanced information infrastructure that supports decision-makers and enhances the emirate’s readiness to keep pace with the requirements of the future.
The forum is a global platform that brings together elite experts and decision-makers to discuss the role of geographical technologies in supporting the economy and society, and anticipating the future of smart cities and sustainable development.
