Portuguese Paulo Sousa, the technical director of Shabab Al-Ahly, cut off the series of rumors that have haunted his future recently, stressing his absolute commitment to staying with the “Knights” until the end of his contract. Souza stressed that the principles of professional work require him to close the file of departure or renewal currently, to ensure the highest levels of focus for the team in the final meters of the season.

In exclusive statements to Emirates Today, the Portuguese coach said: “I will continue my mission with Shabab Al-Ahly until the last day of my contract. I deal with complete realism and professionalism, and my entire focus is on preparing for the remaining decisive confrontations, and I see no justification for opening discussions that might distract the players’ minds from our set goals.”

Regarding the reports linking his name to coaching Al-Wahda Club in the new season, Souza described that news as “does not go beyond the circle of seasonal speculation,” saying: “In the world of football, rumors abound as the end of the season approaches, but I do not comment on rumours.” The priority now is field work and developing performance, not talking about the next destination.”

Souza concluded his speech by stressing that the decisive decision will be postponed to the “closed rooms” after the end of the season, explaining: “When the final whistle blows, it will be the ideal time to sit down and evaluate the stage in all transparency and make a decision that serves the interests of all parties.
