"Du" It joins the National Content Program to empower companies and suppliers and invest in national competencies

Abu Dhabi, 8 May / WAM / Du announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, with the aim of supporting and enhancing the national content program in the United Arab Emirates.
The signing came on the sidelines of the two parties’ participation in the fifth session of the “Make in the Emirates” platform, which concluded today.
The agreement aims to establish a framework for cooperation between the two sides to enhance and develop supply chains locally, increase the contribution of national products and services and empower the entrepreneurship system, which contributes to strengthening the role of the private sector in supporting the country’s industrial priorities and raising its competitiveness on the world economic map.
Under the agreement, du will work to align the company’s adopted procurement practices with the program’s objectives, develop the local supplier system, and support the development of national competencies and capabilities through coordination and cooperation mechanisms and frameworks with the ministry.
His Excellency Hassan Jassim Al Nowais, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, said: “This partnership enhances the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, and through our cooperation with our strategic partners, including Du, demand and purchasing opportunities within the National Content Program are directed to local companies and the national economy, in support of efforts to localize vital and priority industries.”
He added: “These partnerships constitute an essential foundation for enhancing the flexibility of supply chains, and support efforts to build a more competitive and sustainable industrial base, and empower national competencies in various vital and strategic sectors, thus enhancing the country’s position as a global center for industry and attracting industrial and advanced investments. Since the launch of the National Content Program, the program has succeeded in redirecting more than 473 billion dirhams to the national economy, thus enhancing growth and prosperity.”

It also establishes an expandable framework for implementing the principles and agenda of the program across various strategic and vital sectors, supporting more comprehensive participation of the private sector and achieving a tangible positive impact in line with the goals of economic transformation and industrial growth in the country.
