"Emirates doctors" It highlights the achievements of the national preparedness system
Abu Dhabi, 9 May / WAM / The “Emirates Doctors” initiative, in cooperation with Medic Conferences, today organized the Emirates Medical Forum under the slogan “Ready to Give Back to the Nation,” which was hosted by the Fatima College of Health Sciences in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of an elite group of national medical personnel and first-line teams of defense from governmental, private and non-profit health institutions.
The forum focused on reviewing the development process of the unified and integrated UAE system for preparedness and response to emergencies and crises, coinciding with “Emirates Medical Day”, which falls on May 9 of each year, and highlighting the pioneering national initiatives in support of health preparedness and health security, and the pivotal role played by national medical personnel in developing the health system and raising the efficiency of responding to crises and emergencies in accordance with the highest international standards and practices.
The forum highlighted the qualitative achievements achieved by the unified national system for preparedness on the international scene, in addition to the achievements of the first line of defense in establishing, managing and operating the first unified and comprehensive national system for preparedness and response, through a coalition that includes more than 20 governmental, private and non-profit institutions.
The forum discussed the efforts of “Emirates Doctors” in developing national medical competencies through the launch of virtual medical academies, and the training of more than 30,000 first-line defense personnel locally and internationally, in addition to launching the first mobile field hospital and managing mobile medical clinics inside and outside the country, which contributed to providing health services to millions of beneficiaries within humanitarian and volunteer programs.
His Excellency Sultan Al Khayal, Secretary General of the Sharjah Charitable Foundation, stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between government, private and non-profit institutions to adopt the national “Emirates Doctors” initiatives, and highlight the vital role played by the “Jaheziya” coalition from various sectors of the country to enable the first line of defense to serve the community and give back to the nation, enhancing the quality of life and sustaining the path of medical excellence led by the UAE.
Dr. Adel Al-Shammari Al-Ajmi, head of the “Emirates Doctors” initiative, said that “Emirates Medical Day”, which the country celebrates on the ninth of May of each year in appreciation of the contributions of health personnel, represents a national milestone for honoring workers in the health sector and highlighting the national efforts that have resulted in building qualified medical personnel and enhancing their capabilities in various areas of readiness and response, which reflects the UAE’s vision of investing in the human element and establishing a sustainable and advanced health system.
The forum witnessed the honoring of the winners of the “Emirates Medical Award” and the “Emirates Medical Medal”, in addition to honoring volunteers from the first line of defense participating in medical campaigns inside and outside the country, in appreciation of their humanitarian giving and national contributions in supporting the process of medical excellence and enhancing the readiness of the national health sector.
