Ukrainian Vladislav Rudnev is crowned champion of the main fight in the 71st edition of… "Emirates warriors"
Abu Dhabi, May 9 / WAM / Ukrainian Vladislav Rudnev was crowned champion of the main fight in the 71st edition of the “Emirates Warriors” Mixed Martial Arts Championship, after his victory tonight over Armenian Marton Mzeliman by submission, in the first round, during the competitions held at Space Arena 42 at Al Raha Beach in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Zayed bin Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the winning champion, was crowned in the presence of His Excellency Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, President of the Emirati and Asian Federations, First Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, His Excellency Saleh Mohammed Al Jaziri, Director General of Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, Sayed Basr Shuaib, CEO of the International Holding Company, and Fouad Darwish, CEO of Palms Sports Company, Chairman of the Championship Organizing Committee.
The competitions were attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Sultan bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation, President of the Emirates E-Sports Federation, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, and His Excellency Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The competitions of the 70th edition of the tournament, which was held yesterday, witnessed 10 strong fights, amid remarkable interaction from the fans who celebrated the “Proud of the Emirates” event that was held on the sidelines of the tournament.
The 70th edition also witnessed the crowning of the Zimbabwean champion, Sylvester Chipvembo, with the title of the joint main fight, after he succeeded in defeating Albanian Felson Drejjuni by a referee’s decision, within the featherweight competition.
