Asian Cup 2027.. The UAE team is in the group of South Korea, Vietnam, and “Lebanon or Yemen”

The draw for the 2027 Asian Cup finals, which was drawn today, Saturday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, placed the UAE national football team in the fifth group, alongside the teams of South Korea, Vietnam, and “Lebanon or Yemen,” as the next participation of the team is No. 12 in its history, after 11 had previously participated in a copy. The first group included Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Palestine, and Oman, while the second group included South Korea, Bahrain, Jordan, and Uzbekistan, in the third group, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, China, and Syria, in the fourth group, Australia, Iraq, Singapore, and Tajikistan, and the sixth group included Japan, Qatar, Indonesia, and Thailand.

24 teams will participate in the tournament, 23 of whom have been confirmed to participate, while the last seat will be decided between Lebanon and Yemen during the meeting that brings them together on the fourth of next June to determine the qualifying team.

The Emirati Whites were classified before the draw ceremony in the second level, along with the teams of Qatar, Iraq, Jordan, Oman and Syria, according to the latest FIFA global classification of international teams.

According to the draw ceremony, the participating teams were divided into six groups, with each group containing four teams.

The qualified teams were distributed into four levels according to the latest FIFA classification of world teams. The first level included the teams of Saudi Arabia, Japan, Iran, South Korea, Australia and Uzbekistan, while the third level included the teams of Bahrain, China, Palestine, Vietnam and Tajikistan, and the fourth level included the teams of Kyrgyzstan, North Korea, Indonesia, Kuwait, Singapore, Lebanon and Yemen.

The Japanese national team holds the record for the number of times it has won the title, with four titles, while Iran and Saudi Arabia have each won the cup three times, and Qatar is the defending champion, having won the tournament twice in a row in 2019 and 2023.
