المملكة: Urgent: “Commerce” arrests a store that deceived consumers with “iPhone” gifts

The Ministry detected the violation after the store announced, through its account on one of the social media platforms, that it would provide a gift to every consumer upon purchase, which included the phrase: "Surprise of the season.. everyone takes an iPhone"
It was found that it did not adhere to the content of the advertisement, as consumers were handed different devices instead of the advertised devices.
The e-commerce system in Saudi Arabia
The Ministry confirmed the summons of those in charge of the store and the referral to the committee examining violations of the e-commerce system to take legal measures, for violating the provisions of Article "eleventh" From the e-commerce system.
It stipulates: "It is prohibited to include in electronic advertising a false offer, statement, or claim, or one formulated in terms that would directly or indirectly lead to deceiving or misleading the consumer."
It is noteworthy that the Ministry monitors and follows up on electronic advertisements for electronic stores, and refers violators to the committee to review violations of the electronic commerce system, through which it issues fines of up to one million riyals, in addition to blocking and closing violating websites, and prohibiting them from practicing the activity.
