“United” achieves glory and reaches the professional league

The United team officially reserved its place in the Professional League, after its goalless draw against the Emirati club Al Orouba, in the match that was held yesterday in the 28th round of the First Division League. United raised its score to 57 points at the top of the standings two rounds before the end of the season, and now needs to win one of its two remaining matches against Al-Ettifaq Club or Al-Hamriya Club in order to clinch the First Division League title, while Al-Orouba’s score reached 51 points.

United is the first private club to advance to the professional league in the history of the professional league, and is led by the legendary Italian coach Andrea Pirlo, amid great celebrations from the team’s players and fans after the final whistle.

In the rest of the round’s matches, Hatta Club strengthened its chances of promotion after its great victory over its host Al Dhaid Club with a score of 4-0, bringing “Hurricane” its score to 53 points, and becoming the closest to accompanying United to the Professional League, while Al Dhaid’s score froze at 48 points in sixth place. Hatta’s goals were scored by Brazilian Guilherme Castro (23), his compatriot Samuel Rosa (25), Rashid Mubarak (87), and Moroccan Ayman Rashouk (90 + 5).

Dibba Al-Hisn Club achieved an important victory over Al-Hamriya with an unanswered goal, signed by Cameroonian Pere Kounde in the 89th minute, raising its score to 50 points, and maintaining its hopes of competing for promotion. Al-Arabi club reached the same score after its victory over Gulf United with a score of 2-1, as British Benik Afobe (45+2) and Colombian Juan Diego (90) scored for Al-Arabi, while Swedish Robin Quaison (78) scored for Gulf United. Gulf United remained in tenth place with 25 points.

The rest of the results resulted in the Emirates Club defeating Al-Ittifaq 4-2, raising its score to 39 points in seventh place, compared to 20 points for Al-Ittifaq in thirteenth place.

The Brazilian Darlison Rodriguez (47), Ahmed Ibrahim (51), the Dutchman Lars Veldwijk (56), and the Frenchman Sidi Hamed (70) scored for the Emirates, while the Dutchman Javan Anderson (17) and the Italian Jacopo da Riva (90+3) scored for Al-Ettifaq.

City FC also tied with Fujairah 1-1, with Frenchman Sander Benbachir (23) scoring for Fujairah, and Brazilian Anderson Salviano (49) for City.

Fujairah raised its score to 39 points in eighth place, compared to 23 points for City in eleventh place.

In another confrontation, Majd Club tied with Al-Jazira Al-Hamra Club without goals, raising Majd’s score to 18 points in 14th place, compared to 21 points for Al-Jazira Al-Hamra in twelfth place, so that the competition for survival flared up two rounds before the end of the season.
