The Arabic Language Center in Sharjah presents development visions at the conference on enhancing Arabic education digitally

Sharjah, May 16 / WAM / The Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States in Sharjah participated in the work of the International Conference on Innovation in Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers, which was organized by the Distance Scientific Rooting Foundation under the slogan “Innovation… Communication… Spread”, with the participation of an elite group of experts, academics and specialists from various countries, educational institutions, universities and research centres.

The conference aimed to anticipate the future of teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers, and to promote innovation in curricula and teaching methods, to keep pace with the rapid technical and digital transformations, and to enhance the presence of the Arabic language globally as a language of civilization, knowledge and culture.

During the opening session, His Excellency Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States in Sharjah, delivered a speech in which he stressed that teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers has become a strategic necessity in light of the growing human and technical communication, and the increasing competition between languages ​​and cultures for presence and influence.

He pointed out that the conference embodies a scientific and cognitive trend that aims to employ modern technologies and artificial intelligence in developing curricula for teaching the Arabic language, raising the efficiency of teachers, and building interactive educational environments that respond to the different linguistic and cultural backgrounds of learners.

The Center also participated in a specialized scientific paper within the first scientific session entitled “Educational Innovation and Building Modern Curricula in Teaching the Arabic Language to Speakers of Other Languages,” and Dr. Issa Al-Hammadi presented a research paper entitled “The Reference Framework for Teaching the Arabic Language to Speakers of Other Languages ​​- Composition, Teaching, Training and Enjoyment,” which dealt with the modern reference foundations for developing Arabic language teaching, and the mechanisms for building linguistic content according to scientific standards that take into account the cultural and linguistic diversity of learners, and support integration between composition, training, and educational application.

The session discussed a number of topics related to developing curricula, localizing international frameworks for language teaching, building modern educational programs, and integrating contemporary educational models in teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers.

Al-Hammadi stressed that the strategy of the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf States paid great attention to the Arabic language, by allocating a strategic goal to contribute to the development of its teaching and learning for non-native speakers, indicating that the center is working to implement specific initiatives and programs to develop educational policies, curricula, standards and evaluation methods, and to build the capabilities of teachers and educational supervisors in this field.

The conference addressed a number of main scientific topics, including educational innovation, building modern curricula, technology, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence in linguistic education, in addition to preparing teachers, developing educational competencies, and reviewing global experiences, partnerships, and educational policies related to teaching the Arabic language to non-native speakers.

The conference targeted teachers, faculty members, researchers, postgraduate students, directors of Arabic language teaching centres, specialists and those interested in this field.
