"My legacy" He launches his electronic platform to display his luxury products
Sharjah, May 22 / WAM / The Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council launched its new electronic shopping platform in a step that reflects its direction towards expanding the presence of contemporary crafts within the digital landscape and enhancing the reach of its products and creative partnerships to a wider audience locally and globally.
The electronic platform provides a full range of the Council’s products, including handicraft pieces and designs that were developed in cooperation with designers and artists from the region and the world within a vision that reintroduces traditional crafts in contemporary contexts that combine identity and design.
The launch of the website comes within the Council’s direction towards developing the creative craft economy through sustainable channels and enhancing the presence of their products outside the framework of exhibitions and events, thus opening broader horizons for reaching markets and diverse segments of the public and art connoisseurs, in addition to keeping pace with the rapid changes in the digital commerce market and consumers.
The platform represents an extension of the Council’s vision of transforming crafts from a traditional practice into a creative sector capable of interacting with the contemporary economy by employing design, technology, and digital marketing to support the sustainability of crafts, expand their cultural and economic impact, and develop the social aspect of craftsmen.
Her Excellency Reem Bin Karam, Director General of the Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, said that the launch of the electronic platform represents a strategic step aimed at consolidating the position of Emirati and contemporary crafts at the heart of the creative economy and establishing direct and sustainable channels of communication between craftswomen and the public. This initiative also enhances the sustainability of craft products and expands the scope of their spread in local and international markets through a digital space that highlights the development of the craft and its flexibility in adapting to the requirements of modern life.
