The field teams of Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by Secretariat of the Holy Capital, preparation and environmental sanitation works in Mina’s hair as soon as Guests of the Most Gracious to the Arafat site, as part of its operational plan for the Hajj season 1447 AH, ensuring the readiness of the site to receive pilgrims after their departure.

The Ministry explained that the field teams were able to rehabilitate the entire site of Mina from an early date, by intensifying waste removal and environmental sanitation operations, and supporting the sites with additional teams equipped with suction pumps, tanks, and field mechanisms working around the clock to deal with various cases. emergencies, including rain, fires, etc.

It indicated that the Holy Capital Municipality has employed more than 13,000 workers to work in Mecca and the Holy Sites, supported by all necessary equipment and mechanisms, to maintain a high level of environmental sanitation and field services throughout the Hajj season.

Integrated Operational Plan

She added that the waste management system in the Holy Sites operates according to an integrated operational plan, where waste is transported to Transitional stations spread around the Holy Sites, while they are stored after the Day of Arafa through a system that includes more than 1,230 compactor boxes with a capacity of 8 tons each, in addition to more than 110 ground warehouses with a total capacity of about 2,825 tons.

The Ministry confirmed the provision of about 88 thousand waste units distributed in the Holy Sites, in support of raising the efficiency of waste collection and preserving the general environment, which contributes to Providing the best services to the guests of God.
