Shabab Al-Ahly sets a date with Al-Nasr in the “Basketball Cup” final

The basketball team at Shabab Al-Ahly Club set a date with Al-Nasr on Saturday, in the final of the “Vice President’s Cup” competition, after successfully overcoming them today after the semi-finals, with the “Dubai Knights” narrowly defeating their guest over Al-Bataeh with a score of (112-108), and “Al-Ameed” away from home to Sharjah by a score of (90-83).

Al-Bataeh missed the opportunity to end the first half with a 10-point lead and a score of (62-51) after the Al-Bataeh players tightened their grip on the results of the first and second quarters by (24-19 and 38-32), especially since the second half witnessed a noticeable improvement for the Shabab Al-Ahly players, through which they knew how to resolve the match in their favor by gaining the advantage in the results of the third and fourth quarters by (26-22 and 35-24).

In turn, Al-Nasr needed to ensure its qualification for the final, for its players to gain the advantage with the results of the first and second quarters by (24-19 and 26-17) and to establish a difference of 14 points at the end of the first half, which was enough for “The Dean” to emerge victorious in the match despite the success of the Sharjah players in gaining the advantage with the results of the third and fourth quarters by (17-15 and 30-25), which was not enough for “The King” to return the result of the match.

In next Saturday’s final, Shabab Al-Ahly is aiming for its third title this season, after winning the “Federation Cup” competition and the General League Championship, while Al-Nasr is seeking its second title after being crowned at the end of last month in the “Emirates Cup” competition.
