Mohamed Al Kamali, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee for the 2026 World Cup Finals

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has appointed the Emirati Advisor Mohammed Al Kamali, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), to chair the Disciplinary Committee for the 2026 World Cup finals, hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico, in a new confirmation of the international standing enjoyed by Emirati competencies in global sports institutions.

This came in recognition of Al-Kamali’s high experience, competence and professionalism, and FIFA’s confidence in his ability to lead the committee’s work during the largest edition in the history of the tournament, which witnesses the holding of 104 matches, with an audience estimated at millions in stadiums, and a global following that reaches billions of viewers around the world.

It should be noted that the fans will live exceptional moments during the tournament, and that the success of the global event does not depend only on the players and teams, but also on the decisions, expertise and professionalism provided by the officials charged with managing its various organizational and legal aspects, most notably the members of the judicial and disciplinary committees.

He said that the task will not be easy in light of the holding of 104 official international matches distributed over three different countries, and the accompanying huge audience attendance in the millions, and global following in the billions, which requires the Disciplinary Committee to work with the utmost efficiency, speed and precision.

He pointed out that sports, and football in particular, have an exceptional ability to bring people and cultures together, stressing that the committee will work to perform its role in a way that contributes to achieving the noble goals of the tournament and consolidating its humanitarian and sporting message.

Al Kamali added that he feels great pride as an Emirati with this international assignment, and that he will do everything in his power to represent the UAE in an honorable manner in this global forum, pointing out that the presence achieved by national cadres in various international institutions reflects the vision of the wise leadership and its continuous keenness to invest in the Emirati person and enable him to reach leadership positions, thus consolidating the country’s position and leadership on the global stage in various fields.
