FIFA determines the referee for Jordan’s first match in the World Cup

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the appointment of Mauritanian referee Dahan Beida to officiate the Jordanian national team’s match against Austria, in the first round of the tenth group competitions in the 2026 World Cup finals.

Assistant referees Gerson Santos from Angola and Elvis Nobe from Cameroon will assist Beda in managing the match, while Oshani Nation from Jamaica will be the fourth official.

The Jordanian national team begins its World Cup campaign next Wednesday morning at the Bay Arena, in a confrontation that is widely anticipated, as it marks the first appearance of “Al-Nashama” in the history of the World Cup.
