A new shock for England in the World Cup.. Injury rules out Livramento and Chalobah, the substitute

Tino Livramento was excluded from the England national football team’s squad for the World Cup, and was replaced by Trevo Chalobah on the eve of the team’s opening match against Croatia.

Coach Thomas Tuchel’s team was forced to make a late substitution before facing the Croatian national team tomorrow, Wednesday, in Group Twelve, after the Newcastle defender suffered an injury.

British news agency PA Media reported that Liveramento trained with his teammates in front of the media at the team’s residence in Kansas City on Sunday, but questions arose later that day after he withdrew from media duties that he was supposed to perform.

The English Federation has now confirmed that Liveramento (23 years old) will miss the World Cup due to a calf injury, which led to Chalobah being summoned.

A statement from the England national team said: “Trevo Chalobah was called up to the England national team’s 26-man roster after Livramento was forced to leave the roster due to injury.”

The statement added: “The necessary arrangements are currently being made for the Chelsea defender to travel to the national team’s camp in Kansas City, while the rest of the squad will head to Dallas, Texas, in preparation for the England national team’s opening match against Croatia on Wednesday in the group stage.”

He added: “Newcastle defender Liveramento suffered a calf injury during training on Sunday evening.”

The statement confirmed: “The medical examinations and x-rays that the player underwent on Monday showed that, unfortunately, he will not be able to participate again in England’s campaign in the tournament.”
