A new Emirati mediation between Russia and Ukraine succeeds in releasing 320 prisoners
Abu Dhabi, June 26 / WAM / The UAE announced the success of its mediation efforts between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine in completing a new exchange process that included 160 prisoners from the Russian side and 160 prisoners from the Ukrainian side, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries in these mediations to 7,791 prisoners.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciated the cooperation of the two friendly countries in making the UAE’s mediation efforts a success, as it is a reliable international mediator, and appreciated the country’s keenness to support all efforts aimed at resolving the crisis between the two countries.
The Ministry reported that with the success of this mediation, the total number of Emirati mediations that took place during the crisis reached 25, which comes from the distinguished relations that the UAE has with both the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the UAE will continue its efforts aimed at making various efforts successful to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, and to mitigate the humanitarian effects resulting from the crisis, such as refugees and prisoners.
