The national teams of Belgium and Egypt qualify for the round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup

VANCOUVER, June 27, 2017 – The Belgium national team defeated its New Zealand counterpart, 5-1, in the match that was held today at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, in the third and final round of Group Seven in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, currently being held in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

The Belgian national team raised its score to 5 points, topping the group standings on goal difference over the Egyptian national team, which tied with its Iranian counterpart 1-1 in the match that was held at the same time at Seattle Stadium in the same round.

With these results, the Belgium and Egypt teams qualified for the round of 32 after finishing the group stage with 5 points each, with the advantage of goal difference favoring the Belgian team, which topped the group, while the Egyptian team finished second.

The Iranian team came in third place with 3 points, while the New Zealand team was at the bottom of the group with one point.
