The World Government Summit is organized "Latin American and Caribbean Dialogue 2026" In November

DUBAI, 27 JUNE / WAM / Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and under the patronage of His Excellency Luis Abi Nader, President of the Dominican Republic, the World Government Summit Foundation announced the organization of the World Government Summit Dialogue 2026, in Latin America and the Caribbean in the city of Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic, on November 20 and 21, 2026, with broad participation from senior government officials, business leaders and investors. And representatives of international organizations and partners of the World Government Summit.

The organization of the second edition of the summit is the result of the growing strategic partnership between the UAE and the Dominican Republic, and a continuation of the strategic agreement announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Excellency President Louis Abi Nader, during the World Government Summit 2026, with the aim of expanding the scope of cooperation and consolidating the position of the World Government Summit as a leading international platform for strengthening partnerships between the UAE and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

His Excellency Louis Abi Nader, President of the Dominican Republic, confirmed when he received a delegation from the UAE that included His Excellency Mohammed bin Taliah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange Affairs, and His Excellency Mohammed Youssef Al-Sharhan, Director of the World Government Summit Foundation, that the World Government Summit Dialogue for Latin America and the Caribbean embodies the shared visions of the Dominican Republic and the UAE to enhance international dialogue, cooperation and partnerships aimed at promoting growth, innovation, economic integration, exchanging experiences and creating future opportunities.

His Excellency said: “The Dominican Republic is honored to host this regional dialogue, which reaffirms our firm commitment to being a platform that brings together growth, innovation and cooperation between the countries of Latin America, the Caribbean and the world.”

His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Government Summit Foundation, stressed that the relations between the UAE and the Dominican Republic represent an advanced model of positive international partnerships based on joint development and anticipating future opportunities, indicating that these relations are witnessing continuous development driven by a common vision focused on enhancing readiness for the future and keeping pace with global changes.

His Excellency said: “The World Government Summit Dialogue in Latin America and the Caribbean constitutes a strategic platform for translating shared ambitions into cooperation paths, qualitative partnerships, and practical projects that benefit societies, by bringing together governments, business leaders, and international institutions under one umbrella to exchange experiences, anticipate global transformations, and develop innovative solutions to development challenges, and enhance governments’ readiness and ability to create a more prosperous and sustainable future for their people.”

Mohammed Yousef Al-Sharhan, Director of the World Government Summit Foundation, stressed that organizing the summit dialogue in the Dominican Republic embodies the strategic relations between the UAE and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean and their upward trajectory, in light of the growing joint cooperation in the fields of economic development, innovation, modernization of government work, investment, tourism, and sustainable growth.

He said that the dialogue consolidates the role of the summit as a global platform that brings together governments and decision-makers to exchange experiences and build qualitative partnerships that support sustainable development and enhance governments’ readiness for the future. He pointed out that organizing the second edition of the dialogue comes as a continuation of the success achieved by the first edition, which was hosted by the Dominican Republic in 2025, and constituted an important milestone in the process of international cooperation.

The second edition of the dialogue witnesses a significant expansion in terms of size and influence, a broader representation of countries, a more comprehensive program of executive sessions and meetings, and a greater focus on achieving practical results and long-term partnerships. More than 70 speakers from governments, the private sector, academic institutions and international organizations will participate in it, and representatives of more than 30 countries from Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and various regions of the world, along with more than 120 companies and institutions from the private sector.

The dialogue agenda includes 35 sessions discussing strategic, economic, technological and governmental priorities, and 15 high-level meetings and conferences to strengthen partnerships and achieve practical, implementable results, and focuses on six main axes that include: Geopolitical economy and strategic investment, tourism, culture and experience economies, international cooperation and regional integration, anticipating the future of governments, logistics and global connectivity, human capital and the future of work.

The dialogue is organized in partnership between the World Government Summit, the Government of the Dominican Republic, and the Center for Public Policy Analysis (CAPP), with the participation of a number of prominent regional and international institutions, including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Latin American and Caribbean Development Bank (CAF), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Latin Center for Administration for Development (CLAD), and the African Center for Management Training and Research for Development (CAFRAD), in addition to the partners and members of the summit. Global forum for governments, investors, business leaders and private sector representatives from across the region and the world.

It is noteworthy that the first edition, which was hosted by the Dominican Republic in 2025, was an important milestone in the process of regional and international cooperation, and brought together representatives of 22 countries, 29 speakers, and 59 leading companies and institutions through 14 sessions and 10 strategic meetings that dealt with the future of governments, economic transformation, tourism, innovation, and regional cooperation.

It also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the summit and the Dominican government with the aim of strengthening institutional cooperation, developing joint initiatives, and establishing a long-term platform for dialogue and cooperation.

It is noteworthy that since its establishment in 2013, the World Government Summit has brought together participants from more than 160 countries, including 145 heads of state and government, and more than 3,500 speakers, which has consolidated its position as one of the most prominent global platforms concerned with anticipating the future of governments and public policy making.
