France’s coach returns to the World Cup after the death of his mother

The French Football Federation said today, Saturday, that national team coach Didier Deschamps has returned to the World Cup squad after a short return to his country following the death of his mother.
The French Federation said in a message to the media, “Didier is with us.”
Deschamps, who led France to win the World Cup in 2018 and reach the final in 2022, missed the 4-1 win over Norway yesterday, Friday, a victory that secured France’s lead in Group Nine, which will give it a less stressful travel schedule in the coming period.
France, which is based in Boston, is scheduled to play against Sweden in the round of 32 in New Jersey next Tuesday.
