Cooperation between "Emsteel" and the Technological Innovation Institute to develop high-strength rebar solutions

Abu Dhabi, June 29 / WAM / The Emsteel Group announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Technological Innovation Institute (TII), the leading global research center and the applied research arm of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), in order to develop innovative solutions for high-strength rebar that contribute to enhancing the levels of protection and resilience of vital infrastructure in the UAE.

The agreement contributes to strengthening the strategic cooperation between the two parties to develop and adopt advanced solutions for high-strength rebar, including evaluating the performance of the “ES600” rebar developed by Emsteel in applications and operational conditions that require the highest levels of protection and shock resistance.

It opens the way for the development of specialized grades of rebar, specifically designed to meet the needs of projects of strategic importance that require high levels of flexibility and readiness, including strategic assets and vital infrastructure facilities in the UAE.

Engineer Saeed Ghumran Al Rumaithi, CEO of Emsteel Group, said that the cooperation embodies Emsteel’s firm commitment to continuing innovation and developing advanced industrial solutions that support the country’s national priorities in the fields of industry and infrastructure. He pointed out that by uniting the group’s leading expertise in manufacturing rebar with the global research and engineering capabilities of the Technological Innovation Institute, a new phase of high-performance rebar solutions is being established, specifically designed to meet the requirements of vital national strategic projects and enhance infrastructure readiness for the future.

He added that through these efforts, the competitiveness of the national industry will continue to be enhanced, and the UAE’s position will be consolidated as a global center for advanced industries, supporting the achievement of comprehensive and sustainable economic development.

For her part, Dr. Najwa Al-Araj, CEO of the Technological Innovation Institute, said that this cooperation combines the advanced expertise of the Technological Innovation Institute in material characterization, advanced engineering simulation, and evaluation of the response of materials to shocks, and the global expertise that “Emsteel” enjoys in the iron and building materials industry.

She added that through this partnership, work is being done to evaluate and approve the performance of high-strength rebar solutions for applications that require the highest levels of protection and flexibility, in addition to building the scientific and engineering foundations for developing the next generation of advanced reinforcement solutions, which are being developed in the UAE specifically to enhance the resilience of the national infrastructure and the most important strategic assets.

Emsteel, through its ongoing investments in advanced manufacturing, research and development, and strategic partnerships, continues to expand the use of high-performance rebar solutions in qualitative and advanced applications, thus enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry and supporting the UAE’s vision of building a sustainable industrial economy based on innovation and advanced technology, and capable of competing at the global level.
