Cairo, 1st July / WAM / The Federal National Council Group in the Arab Parliament, headed by His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Chairman of the Group and President of the Arab Parliament, participated in the closing session of the second session of the fourth legislative term of the Arab Parliament, which was held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The Council group included His Excellency Namah Abdullah Al-Sharhan, Vice-Chairman of the group and member of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee, Majed Muhammad Al-Assam, Member of the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee, and Muhammad Hassan Al-Dhahouri, Member of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee.
During the presentation of the report of the Social Affairs Committee, Her Excellency Naima Al-Sharhan stressed the importance of the Arab Parliament Youth Forum, which received the support and approval of the Bureau, and its work mechanism is being prepared, noting that countries are competing today in providing support to youth projects, as they are an effective and influential element in the development process and shaping the future.
She stressed the need to adopt work mechanisms that contribute to supporting and empowering Arab youth, thus enhancing their role in various sectors and allowing them to contribute effectively to achieving sustainable development in the Arab world.
For his part, His Excellency Muhammad Al-Dhahouri stressed, during a review of the work of the Financial Affairs Committee at the session, that the Arab region is going through one of the most dangerous stages in its modern history, and that the Iranian attacks on the Arab countries are no longer incidental events or reactions, but rather reflect a systematic strategy that targets the infrastructure of countries, threatens the lives of civilians, and destabilizes regional and international economic stability, adding that these attacks represent a blatant violation of the principles of international law related to the sovereignty of states and the security of their citizens, and they systematically targeted vital infrastructure and facilities. Civilian.
He called on the Arab Parliament to adopt positions that can be transformed into action mechanisms, including the establishment of an independent international investigation mechanism to verify documented violations and submit them to the UN Security Council, and to develop an Arab framework for collective security commensurate with the nature of current threats, in addition to providing special legal protection for peaceful nuclear facilities in coordination with the International Atomic Energy Agency, ensuring that targeting them is included among war crimes.
