In his capacity as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Mansour bin Zayed issues a decision to establish a specialized court to examine human trafficking crimes.
ABU DHABI, 7 JULY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Chief of the Presidential Court, in his capacity as Head of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, issued Resolution No. 40 of 2026 to establish a specialized court to examine human trafficking crimes in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as part of efforts to strengthen the specialized judicial system and provide the highest standards of timely justice, which constitutes a qualitative addition to the mechanisms of legal protection and preservation of human dignity. And his rights.
In order to dedicate the principle of comprehensive judicial specialization, the new court unifies within its organizational framework an integrated procedural system, starting with a specialized public prosecution that undertakes the tasks of investigating and prosecuting human trafficking crimes, all the way to first-instance and appellate chambers that specialize in looking into these crimes, in a way that supports improving the efficiency of judicial procedures and accelerating the pace of adjudicating cases.
Within the framework of strengthening the comprehensive protection system and unifying efforts, the decision specified the court’s jurisdiction to consider all human trafficking cases that fall within the scope of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, while obliging the judicial departments before which human trafficking cases are being examined to refer them to the new court, unless the pleadings in the case have been closed, in order to ensure that all cases are subject to the specialized justice system, while the representative of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department issues the necessary decisions to implement the provisions of this decision, and to ensure that the court exercises its jurisdictions with high efficiency.
